I'd like to fundraise for MWF, how to I start?

We’re delighted you want to fundraise for us. Your amazing efforts will help us to make sure everyone get's an equal chance at life.

There are so many ways you can get involved, just take a look at our events and check out our fundraising ideas for inspiration. If you’re not sure what’s right for you, then email us from our CONTACT US page, and we’ll be in touch to help you find the fundraising activity that’s perfect for you.

I live abroad - how can I donate to you?

You should be able to donate online in our local currency, your card provider or bank may apply additional fee in exchange or banking charges. There are a number of alternative options:

Visit our CONTACT US page and donate to any of our international partners. Call us to make a payment by phone or get details about a bank transfer or email us for advice.
Donate directly to MWF via www.JustGiving.com and search for your local Minhaj Welfare Foundation Page.They accept a range of currencies, and money reaches us securely.

If you are unable to use any of these methods, please send a cheque in our or your local currency to our office. You can get details of our office form our CONTACT US page.

Please note, bank charges may be deducted from your donation when using this method, so the other options are most cost effective for us.

Where should I send a cheque?

Cheques should be made payable to Minhaj Welfare Foundation and sent to us at the mailing address on our CONTACT US page.
Please note, we do not recommend sending cash through the post.

Can you claim GIFT AID on my donations?

Yes, if you are a UK taxpayer, we can claim Gift Aid on donations made online or offline, no matter how large or small. You can find out more about the Gift Aid scheme, and let us know that you’re eligible for Gift Aid here.

I'd like to fundraise online, how can I do this?

JustGiving.com and MuslimGiving.org are the two most popular sites supporters use to raise money for us. They both have some fantastic features, like the opportunity for you to set up your own fundraising page where you can upload photos and share messages about your event. Supporters who use these sites often raise more money than people just doing their fundraising offline.

Are you fundraising on Facebook?

Thank you! If you choose to use Facebook as a fundraising platform, or in order to complement or top up donations for your event, please note we may not be aware of this fundraising activity.

If you raise money on Facebook and want us to acknowledge this, please get in touch; you can email or send us a private message through Facebook.

What will you do with my details?

We’d like to keep you up to date with our work, so may contact you from time to time by phone, email, text or post to let you know how we can support you and how you can get involved with our team. Your details will be kept securely and only shared with the suppliers or partners who work on our behalf or with us to deliver and improve our services.

We never sell or swap your details with any third parties. If you would prefer us not to use your details in this way, call our Supporter Care Hub or email us. Visit our CONTACT US page for futher details

Will I receive an acknowledgement of my gift?

When you donate online you will receive an email confirmation of your gift almost immediately. If you send us a gift through the post or by paying directly into our bank we will also send confirmation by post, unless you advise us that you don’t need one.

Can I leave you a gift in my will?

Absolutely. We’re delighted to receive donations left to us as legacies, and any gift no matter how large or small makes a difference. Find out more.

Can you use my donation for a specific aspect of your work?

Nearly 95% of our income is from voluntary donations, and this goes to provide our full range of aid work. We plan these projects very carefully to meet the needs of people affected by calamity nationally or worldwide. We review our project plans regularly to make sure we are delivering the best value for money and maximum impact.

For this reason we prefer to use donations to fund whichever of our projects are most in need, but if you would like us to use your gift towards a specific aspect of our work we will comply wherever possible. Please contact us to discuss your wishes. You can donate directly to some of our current projects here.

How will you use my donations?

We rely on donations for 95% of our income, and your money will help us to provide a variety of relief that help make sure everyone has a fair chance at life. Find out more about what we do, or see a detailed breakdown of how we’ve spent our income in our annual reports.

Can I donate through the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF)?

Direct donations involve less administration and are therefore more valuable to us. However, if you wish to donate in this way, CAF cheques or vouchers should be made payable to Minhaj Welfare Foundation and sent to our postal address on our Contact Us page. We can also accept donations from any other charity giving account (eg Charities Trust, Stewardship). We are unable to accept CAF cards through our website.

However, you can donate using your CAF card by calling CAF direc.

Do you prefer people to make regular gifts rather than one-off donations?

Long-term donations enable us to plan for the future and ensure money is available where it is needed most, so we can be there for as many people in need as possible.

Regular gifts mean a consistent, predictable income so we can plan and budget better, making us more efficient. It’s also more cost effective. More of your money goes to our work as they generate less administration and carry cheaper bank charges.

There are benefits for you too. A regular gift is a hassle-free way to donate, while knowing that you are saving lives.

I have a Direct Debit and would like to increase or decrease the amount, or let you know about my new bank details.

To change you Direct Debit amount or other details, all you need to do is get in touch to infom us through any suitable means from our Contact Us page.

Is setting up a Direct Debit online secure?

Yes, setting up a gift online is also completely safe. Any personal information you enter onto our online Direct Debit pages (including, name, address and bank account details) is encrypted before being sent to us, and recorded on secure servers operated by our regular giving partner.

Our regular giving partner stores your information in a secure environment using industry standard practices. You are then covered by the Direct Debit guarantee. We will write to you to confirm the details of your gift, and only start taking payments from the days of the month you have mentioned. You can amend or cancel at any time.

Is making a credit card donation online secure?

Yes, our website is very secure. If your bank card is enrolled in the 3D Secure scheme (also known as Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode) you will be asked to enter the password you’ve set up with your bank. If it is the first time you’ve used the scheme you will be asked to create a password. These details are stored by your bank and never by MWF.
